猫の年 : Year of the Cat

Year of the Cat is a Fruits Basket zine that explores the relationship between Kyo and Tohru during the undocumented time between Fruits Basket and Fruits Basket Another. This project will contain spoilers if you have not finished Fruits Basket or Fruits Basket Another.

What is a zine?
A zine is a compilation of creative works, usually artworks and writing. It’s similar to a book or a miniature magazine.

What is this zine's theme?
This zine is centered around the relationship between Sohma Kyo, Honda Tohru and their immediate family.

Will other character/ships be featured?
Other characters and canon compliant ships are allowed but should only be mentioned/referenced in passing. The main focus of this zine is Kyo, Tohru, and their immediate family.

Is the zine only set in canonverse? Are AUs allowed?
The setting for the zine is limited to canonverse.

What are the zine specs?
8.5”, square, perfect bound, fully colouredFor profitPhysical, Digital — Will be available in print and digital formats.20 zine artists, 5 writers, 4 merch artists (This number is inclusive of guests and contributing mods)
Are you looking for more mods?
Our mod team is now fully assembled.

How will contributors be compensated?
We aim to provide all contributors with a full bundle of the zine, inclusive of the zine itself, all available merch items, stretch goals and shipping. Funds will mainly go towards production and shipping. The remaining funds will be distributed among the mods and all contributors evenly.

Who is allowed to apply?
Everyone 16 years of age or older at the point of June 14th will be able to participate in the zine. Individuals under the age of 18 should have the approval of a guardian and can be paid through a guardian's PayPal.

Am I allowed to apply for more than one contributor position?
Yes, although applicants who apply as both an artist and a writer will only be selected for one position.

Will everyone who applies get an email regardless of their results?
Yes, result emails will be sent to everyone who applies.
